Blue Heron Yarns are a popular choice for knitters, crocheters, and weavers who prefer plant-based fibres. While offering a merino wool sock yarn base called Sock Plus™, the majority of Blue Heron's yarn bases are cotton and rayon fibres including 100% Certified Organic Cotton, Cotton Rayon Twist™, Bamboo Organic Cotton™, Light Cotton Fingering, Rayon Metallic™, Bulky Rayon Chenille™, Cotton-Rayon Seed™ and Rayon Loop Bouclé. 

Blue Heron has one of the most spectacular hand dyed yarn colour ranges, developed by artist Barbara Stone and her son Demian Savitts, and together they have created  outstanding hand dyed yarns for hand knitting, crochet, weaving and machine knitting all put up in large, generous yardages. As with all hand dyed products, each skein of Blue Heron yarn is one of a kind and it is expected there will be variation in colour and hue from one skein to the next. These products have limited quantities due to a temporary production hiatus. All sales final.
